The Katsu and The Bell

As I begin a new chapter of existence, I find myself a student of Zen Buddhism and full-time resident of a Monastery, meditating 6-8 hours a day, and studying and contemplating Buddhism teachings. As I explore my mind, I am expressing this in my art - starting with a series of Sumi Ink brush sketches on whatever arises in my meditation practice. "The Katsu and the Bell," asks me: "The mind perceives, but wood and metal are silent. So what is ringing?"
