Kigō (記号) - sutra, sign, mark, code, emblem

The medium is hand-ground Sumi Ink, on a variety of handmade Japanese Washi paper.

Each unique piece is the result of an extended contemplation and meditation practice by the artist observing the meaning of the Kanji characters, and then, by applying swift strokes on the paper, the artist completes both the artwork and the meditation session.
