Jukai Ceremony on December 1, 2021

For those who don't know, Jukai is the traditional Buddhist ceremony of receiving the precepts, and of entering and committing to the Zen Buddhist path. The precepts are not rules to be followed, but rather, intentions to be observed. A person publicly vows to honor the Three Devotions, and uphold the Three Universal Precepts and the Ten Fundamental Precepts. They are the common way of life for Buddhists.

I will also receive my "Dharma" name - a name, chosen by the Abbot of the Monastery, Sokuzan, traditionally in Japanese or Chinese. This name is what I will be known as in the Sangha community.

I would be thrilled if you can join me on Zoom, December 1, at 7:00PM EST, USA (GMT -5:00)
